Horticulturist with Transferable visaEductation - Horticulture | Botany or EquivalentExperience- 6 to 8 yrsNationality - AnyTo be responsible for the operation of plant nursery and for producing all types of indoor, outdoor and ornamental plants which are commercially recognized in the market?Plans and designs annual and perennial plantings? Propagates and maintains large number of plant species/cultures? Ensures appropriate irrigation, sanitation and pest control of all nursery stock? Responsible for the entire Green House operations and maintains them using proper methods and techniques? Controls plants from weed/pest/diseases and follows a complete maintenance program? Determines proper techniques, needed pre-treatments and other specialized requirements for plant maintenance? Monitors and adjusts proper spacing, air circulation and sun| shade exposure in coordination with junior staff? Maintains record of Nursery stock on the growing operation and updates it to the management? Identifies and develops new plant types in consultation with management? Mix soils according to formulas suiting the type of plant and its nature and responsible to monitor, track and maintain good soil health? Performs quality control checks on plants and materials used.?Keep accurate and extensive records of the complete life cycle of every plant? Tracking and organizing regular nursery paperwork and relevant restoration projects? Train Junior Staff for certain key techniques like pruning, wound dressing and cavity repairPerform periodic disease and mortality checks? Periodically update management with statistical reports on production, yield, revenue generation? Regularly check and ensure equipment and facilities remain clean and in good working orderRequires at least 6-8 years of working experience at a nursery including propagation, care and pest control experience? Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of plant species including ornamental, indoor and outdoor plants? Complete and thorough knowledge of the climatic conditions of the region and suitability of growing plants in any particular season is a must? Requires working knowledge of safe handling tools and landscape equipment? Excellent knowledge of plant materials including health, quality issues, disease and pests for landscape plantsAbility to act independently, self-organized and able to schedule & prioritize work? Analyse horticultural yield, operational costs and financial returns? Ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met within the set budgetsAbility to work as being an integral part of the team?Perform work and be conscientious about attending to details and taking the needed action without any delayLiasing with colleagues, immediate team members and heads for reporting and feedbackTo operate nursery efficiently in coordination with buyers, suppliers, local officials and professional groups??
