Job Description

A Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the transportation operations of a company. They are responsible for ensuring that goods and people are transported efficiently and in a timely manner. The Transportation Supervisor will oversee a team of drivers and logistics staff, ensuring that schedules are met and that all safety and compliance regulations are followed.Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including scheduling and dispatching drivers and vehicles.
  2. Monitor and track the movement of goods and people, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
  3. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including vehicle inspections and driver training.
  4. Resolve any issues or complaints related to transportation services, working closely with drivers and customers to find solutions.
  5. Manage a team of drivers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  6. Monitor and analyze transportation data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
  7. Work closely with other departments, such as procurement and warehouse, to coordinate transportation needs and ensure efficient operations.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, such as driver logs and delivery records.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, ensuring that the transportation operations are in line with best practices.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
  2. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety requirements.
  3. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  6. Proven leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  7. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
  9. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
  10. Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
