SummaryMakes and repairs variety of cloth, rubber and plastic articles such as , instrument wrappers, equipment covers, linens and gowns, using manual or mechanical means.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Obtains required materials and supplies to make specific articles.2. Marks dimensions with chalk and cut out articles with scissors, assembles cut pieces and secures with pins or thread for sewing, and sews articles together, using sewing machine or by hand.3. Collects articles to be mended from storage rooms. Mends and hems , towels, equipment covers, bed and table linens, and clothing, using sewing machines, thermo_Qatch machine or by hand.4. Measures and alters gowns, uniforms, and other hospital apparel.5. Salvages unrepairable items when possible by making articles of a smaller size.6. Maintains sewing area and sewing machine in neat and orderly condition.7. Follows all prescribed safety procedures.8. Participates in self and other educational training and development as applicable.EducationHigh School Education required.Experience RequiredOne (1) year of tailoring experience is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)* Knowledge in MS Office Software.* Six (6) months trainingin Institution is required.
