?ÿÿÿÿÿÿManage the assigned clinics as per the approved rota by the Medical Director.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿAdmit the patients under care whenever indicated within the limits of the approved and assigned privileges.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿResponsible for the initial assessment, investigation, analysis & interpretation of the clinical findings and test results, arriving at diagnosis, treatment, and re-assessment and follow- up of the patients to reach a final diagnosis.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿPrescribe, administer medication, therapy, and/or other appropriate care to treat or prevent further complication of the disease.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿResponsible for explaining procedures and discussing diagnostic results or prescribed treatments with the patients and/or with the authorized attendants.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿMonitor the patient?s condition and progress and re-evaluate/ re-assessment and treat the patient accordingly.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿRefer the patient to other consultants/specialists when necessary, also consult, or provide consulting services to, other physicians whenever requested.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿUndertake daily rounds on Patients admitted under his/her name and any referred patients.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿDocument and ensure completeness of all medical records of the patients as per the policies of the hospital and update on the progress of the patient appropriately.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿAuthenticate the medical records at initial entries and progress notes by logging in with own username and password in Patient Health Records.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿReview and validate the entries and notes of all junior medical staff in case of patients under his care.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿPerform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for which the Consultant is privileged for.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿApprove the completed discharge summary, follow-up plan, medical report of the patients.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿAssume duties as the Head of the department as and when required by the management.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿEnsure the implementation of all approved policies, procedures, rules, regulations, protocols, guidelines and clinical pathways that guide and support the provision of clinical services.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿDirect, supervise and coordinate the activities of specialists, residents, nurses, therapists, assistants and other medical staff involved in patient care.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿAdvise and contribute to the development of policies and procedures as part of the continuous quality improvement program of the department.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿServe on Departmental / Hospital Committees as required.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿEnsure that Islamic Values and Medical Ethics are respected and strictly observed.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿResponsible to be On-Call as per hospital policy.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿAttend the Code Blue, whenever applicable, and should be involved in all other emergency codes of the hospital.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿProvide the Patient Medical reports and information as and when required by the Head of the department or Hospital Administrator/Medical Director of the Hospital.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿIdentify and bring all Medico-Legal Cases to the notice of the management on time in accordance with the hospital policy.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿParticipate in the provision of clinical / academic activities of the hospital.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿPlay an active role in the education of the patient and his/ her family on a healthy lifestyle. Contributes to awareness and education of the community, in general, on issues related to health.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿBe regular and punctual in the duties assigned as per the schedule?ÿÿÿÿÿÿFollow all hospital policies and procedures.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿObtain informed consent for all patients in accordance with hospital policy for the undertaking of any diagnostic procedure, operation, test or procedure.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿParticipate in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by the Hospital.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿProvide orientation, bedside training and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees (interns, residents and fellows) as assigned.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿParticipate in self-and others? education, training and development as applicable and department?s educational activities and training programs of the department.?ÿÿÿÿÿÿEnrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity?ÿÿÿÿÿÿPerform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
