With a presence in 80 countries, SYSTRA manages over 3,000 projects for high-speed systems, traditional rail lines, metros and tramways throughout the world.Understand better who we are by visiting www.systra.com.ContextOur newest opportunity is for talented and experienced Senior Urban Designer/Plannerto join our team of urban designers, planners and landscape architects for our Industrial City in NEOM ,Saudi Arabia.OXAGON is planned to be the largest floating industrial complex in the world and will establish the worlds first fully integrated port and supply chain ecosystem for NEOM.Main dutiesThe Senior Urban Designer is responsible for addressing the design aspects of urban development at all levels: the city structure, urban form and image, specific area plans, subdivision plans, streetscape plans, and site planning.

• Contribute to the design and delivery of a variety of projects often happening concurrently.
• Work to a programme for deliverables and advise senior staff of any issues which may affect delivery.
• Work within agreed design standards and parameters with senior staff.
• Ensure the quality of deliverables meet the expectations of senior staff.
• Work within a multidisciplinary, multicultural team.
• Undertake technical co-ordination with other disciplines.
• Assist in the planning, design and implementation of infrastructure and development projects.
• Help in the review, approval and technical direction for relevant planning & technical studies. ? Help in the review and approval of infrastructure and development documents and reports.
• Apply sustainability requirement of urban and industrial downstream clusters.
• Support to develop and execute all program reviews.

DegreesBachelor degree in Architecture or Urban planning / environmentOther degreesTechnical skills

• Minimum 10 years? experience in Urban Planning Urban Planning studies design & development including at least 3-of the 10 years associated with industrial developments (e.g., some, either or combination of: cities, districts, lots in a design, master planning, industrial planning, approval and regulatory capacity, or similar
• knowledgeable in the use and application of relevant business software, GIS programs, AutoCAD, REVIT, Photoshop and 3D sketch up.
• Ability to assist and prepare self-study for issues that related to the urban planning such as sites selection and services distribution, environmental impact, traffic and transportation assessment, real-estate development, evaluation of housing demand, population projection statistics and legislations zoning policy and development regulation policy. ? Knowledge of: industry/ regulatory codes and standards, e.g. Zoning Codes Standards.
• Detailed knowledge of the principles behind new urbanism, transit-oriented development, and complete street design.
• This experience should be in urban design preferably with a consulting company, with experience in designing cityscapes in industrial cities and estates
• International experience, particularly in the Middle East, is desirable

• Capable of working on own initiative or as part of a larger multidisciplinary team.
• Have a logical and organized approach to project delivery of project outputs.
• Has the ability to carry out baseline assessment, analyse various data and develop criteria for the assessment of master plans
• Has the ability to develop implementation and phasing planning
• Has sound understanding of planning / environmental governance and policy and can communicate planning / environmental governance and policy and make recommendations where relevant.
• Has strong writing skills and ability to communicate the planning /environmental solutions concisely and succinctly.
• Up to date with the current industry trends, approaches, tools and methods
