OverviewIDC is seeking to hire a Senior Market Research Manager to lead its IT Services Research Program in Saudi Arabia, to be based out of the Riyadh office.IDC is a premier global market analysis, advisory and events firm focused on the ICT sector. The regional business is further supported by offices in Riyadh, Istanbul, Cairo, Nairobi, Lagos, and Johannesburg.Saudi Arabia is one of IDC?s key focus areas and IDC has been tracking the Saudi market for over 25 years. IDC has had a strong footprint in Saudi Arabia for almost a decade, with a dedicated team of consultants, analysts, conference executives, project managers, and relationship managers based out of the Riyadh office. IDC is closely aligned with the Kingdoms transformative initiatives and was the first international ICT advisory firm to author a report on the impact of ICT on the ambitious National Transformation Program (NTP).Building on its local presence and long involvement in Saudi Arabia, IDC has forged several long-term partnerships with local Saudi organizations, both in the public and private sectors. Several public sector ICT enablers have relied on IDC for over a decade to conduct nationwide research. IDC has also helped local telecom operators in the Kingdom by advising them on the convergence of telecom and IT services, including strategic recommendations on their products and services portfolio and the provision of go-to-market advice. IDC has also helped several local IT Service providers to transform and align themselves to market needs by providing market / opportunity assessment advisory services.In addition to research and advisory, IDC organizes numerous ICT-themed events targeted at technology decision makers across various industries. The events provide a platform for key stakeholders of the ICT industry to come together to discuss latest technology trends and their impact.Our information products include market trackers, reports and subscription services, and custom advisory / consulting engagements.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to spearhead the growth of IDC?s research products and services in the Kingdom, develop thought leadership, and manage a team of experienced analysts based in Riyadh.The candidate should have a very good understanding of IT Services domain.This individual will also work with other worldwide, regional, and local analysts to develop a holistic set of thought leadership and actionable research for IT Buyers and Suppliers.The research activities include overseeing the research activities of the team, managing the research agenda and report publication schedule, reviewing research reports of the team, writing thought-leadership papers, managing customer enquiries, delivering presentations at conferences, contributing to consulting projects, and advising technology-based clients on business strategies related to their investment in ICT. The ARD is tasked with meeting report publication deadlines, inquiry requirements and annual financial targets.Responsibilities1. Leading IDC Saudi Arabia?s Research Practice

  • Serve as IDC?s evangelist on the Saudi ICT market.
  • Lead a team of research analysts based in Riyadh and drive their strategic development, and internal coordination to deliver covering the IDC?s spectrum of research services and products in KSA (including market trackers, reports and subscription services, and custom advisory / consulting engagements).
  • Develop and implement a research agenda for the country that aligns with emerging trends, nationwide mandates, and the needs of customers.
  • Develop a plan for primary research for the team and manage its execution.
  • Manage the publication of research reports delivered by the analysts, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
  • Develop guidelines for servicing subscription customers, with a view to maximizing renewals. Manage customer enquiries and the response to them, coordinating closely with the analysts in the team and the account managers.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and expertise to develop and implement unique research product and services for Saudi clients.
  • Review and sign-off of the output of the team including client presentations, reports, data trackers, whitepapers, custom project deliverables, etc.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to position and promote research and advisory products and services.
2. Thought Leadership
  • Be a thought leader, well versed in the language of technology and related business research, and adept at fielding, analyzing, and articulating the results of frequent and precise market intelligence.
  • Speak / present at client workshops and technology conferences as a thought leader on key technology market trends and developments.
  • Author insightful reports on digital trends, CxO priorities, digital maturity, use cases and recommendations for the industry.
  • Strengthen IDC?s coverage of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, blockchain etc. in Saudi Arabia.
  • Deliver actionable advice and recommendations to C-level stakeholders in the industry.
3. Executive Client Servicing
  • Cultivate and manage executive-level relationships with customers, prospects, and other key industry players. It is also critical to build and maintain collaborative relationships with IDCs analyst community, executive management, consultants, marketing, and sales professionals.
  • Identifying market opportunities, new client prospects and effectively working with sales to help win new subscription contracts
  • Supporting client inquiry related to research reports and topics pertinent to published thought leadership research
Qualifications
  • A Master?s degree from a reputed university with strong academic record at all levels
  • At least 12 - 15 years of experience in the technology sector, with at least 3-5 years in technology or management consulting related to digital transformation.
  • Strong research and analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a very agile and highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong people management skills. Experience of managing a multi-cultural team.
  • Ability to engage with C-level executives.
  • High-value personal qualities - resourceful, responsible, tenacious, independent, self-confident, high energy, etc.
  • Excellent English communication skills ? oral, written and presentation skills and Arabic proficiency will be a key differentiator
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and similar software
  • Understanding of the Saudi ICT landscape
  • Only candidates already based in KSA will be considered
