Job Title: Senior Library AnalystDepartment: Research LibraryReports To: Chief LibrarianSUMMARYResponsible for providing first line support to Research Library users. This includes receiving and processing orders for books and articles, circulating materials to library users, document delivery activities, and physical material retrieval and shelving.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.? Participates in acquisition of printed and electronic resources for Library collections? Participates in the cataloging and processing of all library resources? Operates Research Library circulation services? Retrieves and returns materials to the stacks? Conducts audits of Research Library collections including shelf checking against inventory? Participates in the Research Library reference desk rota? Responds to all library users requests for advice, support and information? Supports librarians in preparation of statistical reports.? Updates and maintains records in the automated library system? Undertakes filing of all related correspondence, files and records.? Organises visits and arranges meetings and events as requiredQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE? Bachelor?s degree preferred? Minimum of two years? experience of admin related workLIBRARY SERVICE RELATED KNOWLEDGE? Library processes including circulation, audit, using library databases, e-books and e-journals? Highly skilled in customer service.? Ability to provide fast, accurate, and professional service to the library patron? Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with clients from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.? Experience of using Library of Congress Classification SystemLIBRARY SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE? Use of MS Office.? Experience/awareness of automated library systems including SIRSI, RFID, Digital Library Assistant softwareLANGUAGE SKILLS? High level of proficiency in verbal and written communication skills in English is required? High level of proficiency in verbal and written communication skills in Arabic would be advantageousINTERPERSONAL SKILLS? Effective team working? Accuracy and attention to detail
