SummaryOrganizes a mechanism for planned and systematic monitoring and evaluation of the quality and appropriateness of care/service provided to patients.Pursues opportunities to improve care/service, resolved identified problems and appropriately communicate results.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Develops and maintains databases that will provide a repository for tracking and analyzing data elements.2. Performs on -going data collection for the department and all its subsections against established criteria for the purpose of identifying trends (Indicators will be generic and section specific).3. Prepares and submits monthly morbidity and mortality statistic reports to Chairman.4. Performs special studies or projects as assigned and keeps tracks of same.5. Establishes and maintains a physician peer review process.6. Assists the Chairman in identifying and evaluating sentinel events.7. Establishes and maintains a Physician Profiling system.8. Supports the accreditation process to maintain quality as it applies to the Department.9. Coordinates JCIA activities within the Department of Surgery.10. Provides assistance in risk management whereby risk related issues can be reduced and/or eliminated.11. Develops a program that will provide a systematic approach to address utilization activities.12. Provides training and education on issues relating to the Hospitals overall Performance Improvement Plan and the FOCUS PDCA methodology, as well as Medical Records requirements.13. Tracks delinquent medical records and provides support for maintaining up-to-date records.14. Develops and maintains the Departments Web Page in coordination with Department staff.15. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.16. Follows all Hospital -related policies and procedures.17. Performs all other related duties as assigned.EducationMaster?s or Bachelor degree in Nursing or any other related discipline is requiredExperience RequiredFour (4) years of related experience with Master?s Degree, or six (6) years of similar requirements with Bachelor?s Degree is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)N/A
