Research and Development Manager (R&D Manager)JOB PURPOSE:Lead and Manage a team of Scientist and product development specialists to plan, implement and manages projects to systematically develop, improve and enhance products attributes of cost and consumer appeal, for both existing or new products and their processes, end to end from raw materials to finished product, to meet company?s strategic product positioning and diversification objectives.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Strategic Contribution * Execute the annual business plan and targets and comply with the strategic agenda of the R&D Department to deliver Nadec vision and mission.* Translate the strategy into operational business plans for the R&D and lead the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the Company?s strategyBudgetingParticipate in the preparation of the functional budget and assess financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized.Core Accountabilities* Prepare, Monitor and Control the annual department budget to ensure that expenditure is in line with the Business Plan.* Technical liaison to functional groups (Engineering, Quality, Marketing, Production) to ensure products are developed, implemented and launched.* Execute and refine the assigned Strategic Technical Plan procurement and development of packaging, product or process equipment.* Demonstrate leadership, professionalism and proactive approach towards technical solutions* Develop advanced Project Management & Scheduling skills so that projects are completed in acceptable time.* Execute complex tasks & projects as well as multiple projects concurrently* Lead & Support trouble shooting of product issues and renovate product to ensure products are free from issues.People Management Accountabilities* Ensure that all subordinates have clear objectives, constructive and accurate performance feedback sessions formal annual performance appraisals, and individual development plans.Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures* Adhere with direction for the development and implementation of organizational unit?s policies, systems, processes and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement to ensure efficient and effective operation.* Comply with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to all relevant regulatory directives to ensure a safe and risk-free environment.SkillsQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Education and Certifications Bachelor?s in Food Science, Chemical Engineering and Technology. Master is preferred. Experience: 5-7 Experience of medium to large size food industry with extensive, diverse product development and launch experience. In terms of product and categories. Skills: ? Good skills in food calculation and standardization and using Excel. ? Good knowledge of ingredient, use, applications related to dairy, food industry. ? Good skills to profile food to acceptable taste for consumer sensory. ? Good project and people management skills ? Familiarity of wide variety of food systems ? Knowledge of ERP systems and work as BOM Manager / Subject Matter Expert. ? End to End product development expertise from Raw Materials to consumers. ? Proficiency in using computer and formulation software. COMPETENCIES Technical ? To generate labels and skills related to recipes as per latest standards. ? Good know how or product standards. ?
