Job Description

Laboratory & Quality Assurance

• Dedicating an independent function for quality assurance at HWBC is critical to ensure the integrity and quality of its products and to drive continuous quality improvement.
• Develop, update and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures in line with applicable standards, laws and regulations ? Keep abreast of local and international quality standards to ensure all operations adhere to highest standards and regulations at all times
• Develop and manage the implementation of a quality assurance framework as well as a quality assurance & improvement program aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of products
• Collect and test samples throughout the process leveraging microbiological screening methods in order to detect the presence of microorganisms with the aim to ensure the safety and quality of the product
• Leverage various chemistry tests and methods to ensure product quality and safety
• Ensure product quality from production to selling shelves by conducting regular quality assurance inspections and assessments across the supply chain and distribution centers
• Identify any quality risk or issue and investigate and conduct root cause analysis in coordination with the Production and Maintenance functions to ensure product quality at all times
• Define corrective and mitigation actions to be implemented to protect the organization and its consumers
• Conduct regular inspections on critical supplier materials used, identify risks or issues and ensure they are managed in a timely and effective manner
• Develop, update and maintain a comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date log of all quality issues and risks identified
• Develop periodic and ad-hoc reports on quality assurance and report to the leadership

• Ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are developed and implemented to create a safe and healthy environment, while minimizing impact on the environment is essential to the organization?s operations and reputation. Having a dedicated function for Health, Safety, and Environment will enable the organization to following adequate controls and procedures, instilling an HSE-focused culture across the Head Office, regions and plant
• Develop, update and maintain HSE policies in line with applicable standards, laws and regulations covering HWBC?s plant, regions and Head Office
• Develop standard procedures and appropriate controls to report, investigate and record HSE incidents
• Develop and manage the implementation of HSE programs to protect the organization from any risk or issue
• Conduct routine HSE inspections to identify any risk or issue and to ensure adherence to policies and procedures and define corrective and mitigation actions to be implemented to protect the organization, its employees and the environment in which it operates
• Investigate issues that arise, understand the root cause and define corrective and preventive actions as needed
• Coordinate the planning and execution of emergency response efforts as needed to protect the organization, employees and the environment based on set emergency procedures (e.g., in the case of fire, explosions, injuries, etc.)
• Develop, update and maintain a comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date log of all HSE issues and risks identified
• Recommend initiatives aimed at minimizing the impact of operations on the environment (e.g., waste management, recycling, minimal emissions)
• Conduct training and awareness sessions across the organization to ensure that employees are aware of HSE policies and procedures, and are adhering to them on a day-to-day basis
• Act as an advisor to the leadership on all HSE matters and make recommendations as needed
• Develop periodic and ad-hoc reports on HSE matters and report to the leadership
