The role: To optimise all aspects of the manufacture of factory products, including management of materials and labour. Particular emphasis is placed on the short- to medium-term strategy of enabling the factory to respond to the growth plans of all brands in area of control. To support the team in ensuring maximum utilisation of operational staff and equipment in achieving KPIs and optimal line efficiency within the Company safety, quality & environment policies. To encourage and develop a culture where Health and Safety is first and foremost with every task carried out, ensuring the safety of those in their control. To demonstrate behaviours where the quality of products is seen as central to our operations. To promote an environment that challenges the existing processes and strives for excellence through continuous improvement and flexibility. Lead and develop structured production teams.Key responsibilities include:To ensure that the operation complies with all legislative and ethical standards with regard to safety, food hygiene and staff management. To drive the optimum compliance with all audits including HACCP, GMP, H&S etc. to reach the highest standards;To ensure that all line and process equipment is clean and fit for purpose;To collaborate with the Maintenance manager to ensure the proper completion of engineering maintenance and project work, as required;For promotion of the effective team working by developing the Shift Managers roles;To proactively manage the culture and behavioural values to ensure that the Teams are well placed to respond to current, and future, market demands and technical opportunities;Ensuring that operational flexibility is maintained so that product innovation is not restricted;Understand, challenge and seek to improve on industry best practice to drive a continuous improvement philosophy within the factory.Qualifications & Requirements:You will have/be:5-10 years experience as Food production ManagerStrong Food Manufacturing background is a must.Knowledge in shelf life food products, Pastry, Cakes & Desserts.Strong leadership and people management skills.Experience of modern manufacturing practice
