Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility):Manage the activities engaged in planning, procurement, and distribution of materials, equipment, sourcing, and supplies across multiple facilities. Coordinate with the projects to develop and manage the external supply base. Establish and maintain business unit requirements in responsiveness, quality, reliability, cost, and delivery.Duties and Responsibilities:- Coordinate with the UGL projects representative and others involved to maintain adequate planning, procurement, and distribution of materials, equipment, sourcing, and supplies across multiple facilities- Develop and implement business strategies around supply chain consolidation, cost reduction, quality improvement, as well as supplier assessment- Manage supplier activities to ensure appropriate supplier selection; startup,production ramp, and procedures such as first articles, packaging definition, quality definition, print quality, etc.-Negotiate and procure contracts and services based on long-term volume planning with suppliers and handle conflicts or questions on prices, deliveries, and specifications. Monitor supplier performance and establish quantifiablemetrics/requirements.- Ensure that ownership and alignment is achieved between external and internal partners to meet cost and schedule goals.- Minimize inventory throughout the supply chain, while optimizing product availability.- Develop Supply Chain expertise and best-in-class procedures that can be offered to external our clients.-Prequalify the Contractors and suppliers-Assist for PI system recording, monitoring, reports etc.-Drive new product introduction planning and associated supplied productobsolescence and change activities. Advise management of issues that will affect production/network development and drive coordination of appropriate corrective action when necessary.
