Job Description

Perform a wide variety of manual and mechanical duties to set up and operate a flexographic CI printing press running complex multi-color jobs. Duties include: train and provide guidance to press assistant, determine job requirements, set up and operate press, change overs, routine press maintenance, and other similar duties pertaining to multi-color press operations.Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment.
  2. Print required documents. Review work order, layout, item specification, kodak & color book to ensure correct documentation are available.
  3. Obtain raw materials and check for material defects, treated side and ensure material type and description match with the work order.
  4. Set up flexographic CI press running complex multicolor and ?process printing? jobs using required plate cylinders and anilox on appropriate decks. Make required adjustments to achieve proper registration, web tension and centering on rolls.
  5. Load and web raw material. Obtain required inks and dispense into appropriate stations.
  6. Review and approve set ups performed by assistant. Adjust process orders to densities and definition to match kodaks and/or approved color book.
  7. Obtain retained samples and customer samples as required. Inspect printed material against specifications, layout, color book and record result in Quality Inspection Report.
  8. Monitor press operation and camera screen to ensure quality of print is maintained. Ensure indicating gauges such as air pressure gauges, tension gauges, etc. are at specified levels.
Perform startup, shutdown, change-over and maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor.
