Job ObjectiveThe Parts and Service Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability of required parts for workshops and client sites while supporting the Product Manager in managing the product lines operations efficiently. Reporting directly to the Product Manager, this position involves forecasting parts requirements, conducting market studies, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure seamless part availability.Main Tasks1.Parts Forecasting and Planning:? Collaborate with workshop managers and field service managers to understand their parts needs for equipment maintenance.? Develop accurate parts forecasts based on historical data, equipment lifecycles, and maintenance schedules.? Maintain a comprehensive database of parts inventory and usage to support forecasting activities.2.Supplier Coordination:? Liaise with suppliers to order required parts, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.? Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, prices, credit facilities, and financing options.? Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee the availability of parts in a timely manner.3. Market Studies and Analysis:? Conduct market studies to identify trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging parts technologies.? Gather and analyze market data, customer preferences, and competitors offerings.? Utilize market insights to refine parts procurement strategies and optimize inventory levels.4. Parts Standardization and Configuration:? Collaborate with the Product Manager to standardize parts based on customer requirements, geographic considerations, and equipment specifications.? Recommend parts configuration improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.5. Cost Management:? Monitor parts costs and recommend cost-effective procurement strategies.? Analyze pricing data, review landed and operational costs, and anticipate volume to determine competitive pricing.6. Inventory Management:? Oversee parts inventory levels and ensure adequate stock to meet workshop and client site needs.? Optimize inventory turnover rates and maintain accurate inventory records.7. Documentation and Reporting:? Prepare and maintain detailed records of parts orders, deliveries, and supplier communications.? Generate reports on parts availability, consumption, and procurement costs for the Product Managers review.
