SummaryAssists in evaluation and treatment of patients with lower and upper extremity amputations and disabling conditions under the supervision of Head, Orthotics/ Prosthetics Services (OPS).Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Evaluates and initiates the process of OPS and ensures correct fitting, follows up any subsequent modification to the OPS device.2. Involves in designing, choosing correct material and appropriate components for each patient.3. Rectifies the positive models and fabricates the devices.4. Dedicates 50% of time to clinical activities and 50% time is dedicated to fabrication of devices.5. Coordinates and confers with the Head of the department and works under his supervision.6. Coordinates with members of other departments such as, Orthopaedic, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Neurology to ensure complete care for the patients.7. Instructs patient for appropriate use of the Orthotic/Prosthetic device and give them written/verbal donning and care instructions.8. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.9. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.10. Performs other related duties as assigned.EducationMaster?s orBachelor?s Degree in Prosthetics/Orthotics or both from a recognized institution is required.Experience Required*Grade 09:Two(2) years of clinical experience with Master?s in Prosthetics/Orthotics,or four (4) years with Bachelor?s Degree is required.*Grade 10:- Four (4) years as Orthotist/ Prosthetist at KFSH&RC.- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for last four (4) years.- One hundred (100) hours of cumulative continued medical education is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)Current registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
