Job Description

Job Summary:The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs various laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. They are responsible for accurately analyzing samples such as blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily fluids, and reporting the results to healthcare professionals.Responsibilities:

  1. Perform laboratory tests on various types of samples following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  2. Prepare specimens for analysis by centrifuging, staining, and other necessary methods.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, analyzers, and centrifuges.
  4. Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
  5. Document and maintain records of test results, including entering data into laboratory information systems (LIS).
  6. Evaluate the quality of test results and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies.
  7. Assist in the development and validation of new laboratory tests and procedures.
  8. Adhere to regulatory guidelines and standards for laboratory testing, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace.
