Job Description

Purpose:The Material Planner ensures the supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements while maintaining the day?s inventory outstanding (DIO) at business target level.

  • Review GPS plan, master production schedules and work orders.
  • Responsible for accurate, timely and economical inventory considering stock levels and inventory policies, in order to achieve a feasible medium-term production plan.
  • Maintain the day?s inventory outstanding (DIO) at business target level.
  • Review weekly purchase order releases to suppliers.
  • Place orders according to the approved and adjusted materials plan, and follow up with the suppliers, as well as custom clearance on the shipments.
  • Escalate to procurement any delays/issues with suppliers whenever needed, and work jointly with them to develop a reliable and efficient suppliers? base.
  • Answer any shortages and track daily requirements and weekly shipments.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data (lead-time, safety stock level, etc.).
  • Monitor vendor shipment schedules for on-time delivery
  • Use company equipment/resources properly and safely and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Actively seek opportunities for improvements in the supply chain.
