  • Job Purpose:
The job holder supports the Head of Internal Shari?ah Control in fulfilling the Internal Shari?ah Control Functions to the concerned staff, departments, entities, and relevant subsidiaries of the ENBD Group, in line with the Sharia Governance Framework & Policy with a focus on KSA?s Branch. The job holder is responsible for:
  • Assess the Shari?ah training needs of relevant staff in coordination with HR.
  • Develop basic and customized Shari?ah training materials.
  • Conduct Shari?ah training for ENBD staff on aspects of their duties related to ENBD compliance with Islamic Shari?ah.
  • Develop basic and customized Shari?ah e-training modules.
  • Provide adequate qualifications for the staff on what they need to be equipped with from information and skills, depending on nature of work of each employee, to ascertain that the ENBD always complies with Islamic Shari?ah.
  • Review Sukuk, Syndications, funds, structures, products, policies, SOPs and banking systems.
  • Handle queries raised by the relevant business unit in KSA on the matters related to Islamic products and services.
  • Review the mechanism of Profit & Loss Distribution Methodology (PLDM).
  • Review the KSA Branche?s Marketing communications including campaign, events, brochures and EDMs.
  • Handle customer?s queries and complaints related to Sharia.
  • Prepare a periodic Shari?ah compliance reports under the guidance of the Head of Internal Shari?ah Control.
  • Ensures compliance and implementation of any regulatory requirement related to Shari?ah compliant offering.
  • Prepare formal update intimation in relation to newly issued Sharia related regulations to be communicated with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Support in performing any Sharia Compliance tasks prescribed by the relevant regulator.
Person Specification:
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or Shari?ah and Law Master Degree or any qualification related to Islamic Banking.
  • 10 years of banking experience. 5 of which in related areas and in an Islamic Banking environment.
  • Islamic banking and Islamic Shari?ah principles knowledge.
