Job Description

Job Purpose:Responsible for developing, maintaining and testing application software and troubleshooting issues in order to ensure that customer requirements are met.?Key Roles and Responsibilities:Policies & Processes

  • Implement the IT department policies and follow the set processes in order to achieve the department?s objectives.
Application Development
  • Participate in the analysis and technical design of applications and interpretation of design documents to develop applications which are in line with industry and SALIC standard practices.
  • Develop required software code in the specific technology area ensuring adherence to SALIC?s software development policies and standards .
  • Conduct impact analysis for proposed business amendments/enhancements and provide required estimates accordingly.
  • Review application code to ensure technology best practices and coding standards and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Create project related documents including project plan, unit test plans, application release documents and user manuals.
  • Review status, work schedule and time reports against forecasts and produce a summary report of actual utilization.
  • Create test cases, ensure applications are tested in development and production environment and report test results along with changes that need to be made.
  • Ensure that all applications are maintained with current definitions and agreed software version releases.
  • Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, accepting customer feedback, providing comments and suggestions using sound problem solving techniques .
  • Work with the help desk to resolve daily issues on application incidents or remedies in appropriate manner based on the significance of the issue.
?Web Development
  • Develop and maintain web related communication (i.e. internet and intranet) and assist the VP, IT in maintaining and enhancing existing web applications .
  • Perform testing of web application unit and system, engaging users if necessary.
  • Conduct all user acceptance testing, report results and design and delivers user driven templates and interfaces for easy use.
  • Develop database driven web interfaces for rapid and real time information sharing and develop external web portals allowing users to input and retrieve accurate information.
?Document Management
  • Write documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.
Reporting & Other Duties
  • Perform any other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.
  • Prepare and submit reports that cover IT Development activities for the Direct Manager, as requested.
