To comply with international recommendations that require transparency on reporting Environmental Statistics, current Environmental publications were designed following the guidelines by UN Environmental Statistic. However, the publications developed still need further enhancements developing water accounting statistics publication and implement them within KSA Statistical Office (GASTAT) that is in accordance with SEEA-Water frame-work and links supply and use tables with the asset accounts and in consistency with the System of National Accounts (SNA). Such statistical publications need also to be expanded to account for underground water use and sea water desalination (and the pollutants to sea water it causes) that are specific to Saudi Arabia.We need the expert to be working on how to improve current Water statistics in several ways that are specified in Scope of Work. We need to be able to reconcile data from multiple sources on water stocks and flows in a budget structure in a way that integrates natural (including the underground water) and industrial resources of water with its uses in all economic and household sectorsBenchmark the current statistical products on water with the world?s best practices and provide gap-analysis report on where improvisation is needed.The gap-analysis task should include suggestions for new indicators/statistical publications that re-organizes and suggests water statistics products (detailed in spatial and temporal dimensions) and aligned with country?s reality as well as flexible enough to accommodate its vision of improving water resources.Build and review thewater accounting and water production indexin addition to building the countries SEEA-Water Statistical Publication.Support the Department for assigned tasks by studying challenges notably in the water-related indicators of sustainable development goals (SDGs).Strengthening the internal capabilities of GASTAT in the field of environmental statistics through developing system components, reviewing available data, and developing wastewater and water statistics for the industrial economic sector in line with the framework of the Statistical Committee for the Development of Environmental StatisticsPrepare data sets upon request and respond to queries/requests.Perform any other relevant tasks requested and that are informing water statistics.Required skills and competenciesAbility to provide statistical technical advice on different sectors/theme.Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team and to work under pressure.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish strong cooperative relationships with senior government officials.Ability to work on any of the statistical packages to analyze data.Good understanding and practice of capacity development.Desired additional skills and competenciesPrevious experience in providing advisory support on environment or agriculture development.Experience working with international organizations like FAO..
