Job Description

Our client is seeking a Government Relations Manager with at least five years? experience to join their team in Riyadh. This role is only open to Saudi Nationals, and you must have excellent fluent Arabic and English. In this role you will manage all Government Relations activities and duties for the KSA office. Be responsible for processing and carrying out all transactions relating to visas/ Iqamas, permits, licenses and registrations. This role involves developing relationships with various public officials and act as a liaison with government agencies to ensure that our clients affairs are handled expediently and that a good relationship is built and maintained. This role also involves implementing office government affairs strategy and efficient Labour and immigration processes to achieve smooth running of the business. Someone who has specifically worked with the designation of Government Relations Manager or Officer.Description:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand goals and objectives to ensure activities are aligned to business needs
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive government affairs strategy to support commercial objectives, in alignment with local requirements and leadership needs
  • Develop and manage strategy for building, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with elected officials and government agencies to strengthen company image
  • Acquaint the leadership team of pertinent legislative issues, external factors and updates that could impact the business
  • Serve as a key representative for the firm before government bodies and embassies in support of business goals and objectives
  • Promote and build strong positive relationships and reputation with public officials and their staff, to conduct smooth and efficient business dealings
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to allocate annual departmental budget and track performance throughout the year. Suggest cost reduction initiatives where possible
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various departments and provide input on relevant projects and initiatives
  • Define process flow for residency and relocation, taking into consideration different scenarios (dependents, gender, etc.). Work with Riyadh Operations Manager to create and update manuals for residency and relocation journeys
  • Organize and manage all routine processing of employee services and immigration documents e.g., residence, work permits, medical examination, visas, passports renewal, etc. to complete all the necessary legal formalities to ensure timely and accurate execution
  • Develop, monitor, and implement divisional policies and procedures related to government relations function
  • Secure thorough understanding of protocols and procedures to be compliant with KSA regulations and requirements
  • Identify and analyze risks and recommend and design an action plan
  • Keep abreast of current relevant developments, changes or amendments to the prevailing laws, rules, and regulations. Report to relevant stakeholders accordingly
  • Be well versed on required immigration policies, procedures, and online government systems
  • Develop relevant KPIs and track performance by reviewing statistics and reports for all the visas issued to ensure that issues are highlighted, and process is tracked
  • Continuously monitor and assess operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction, putting into place action plans and recommending solutions to increase efficiency and secure continuous improvement
  • Maintain log of employee residency, employment and other visas details and status and trigger processes to renew them in a timely manner within validity periods
  • Leverage online tools to streamline and automate processes, where achievable, and report activities in real-time fashion
  • Process all types of visas including employment visas, residence visas/Iqamas for staff and direct family members
  • Provide relocating staff and their dependents with operational and on-the-ground support (where needed) on key services (driving licenses, car leases, helpers, SIMs etc.), ensuring compliance to public policies
  • Prepare statements and reports timely and accurately to meet the company requirements, policies, and standards for all government relation affairs
  • Complete departure and exit formalities for employees after cancellation of visas
  • Provide in-depth professional guidance, advice and assistance on government related queries and resolve issues to partners and employees
  • Ensure on-going compliance with all specific government regulations relevant to government relations transactions / activities
  • Facilitate the processing of attestation and translation of documents for the company and employees
  • Act as an ambassador for the company ensuring that business visas to other countries are obtained from foreign embassies / consulates as required by the business
  • Support with guests / visitors? invitation letters and visas as needed
  • Accurately prepare and process required legal documents like rent contract attestation in government agencies
