They are what we believe, what customers can expect, and how we deliver.Position Summary: Fire Life & Safety Engineer shall be .responsible for the compliant inspections and monitoring of passive compartmentation system as per NFPA Code requirement & Saudi Building Code standardsResponsibilities:The FL&S Engineer is responsible for project wide field inspections of passive fire life & safety system on the project in preparation to fire consultant & civil defense inspection.The FLS Engineer is also responsible for:Coordinate the meeting with all PM/CM/FE with regards to compartmentation issues and resolution.Attending inspections in accordance with the inspection schedule.Develop a tracking system to track and log inspected item status.Tracking and logging the punch items following the inspections.Reinspection and closure of the punch items.Coordination with T&C team for installation and commissioning of the systemsReport any engineering/construction non-conformances and provide resolution.Attending inspections with the Engineer and ALARP for fire sealant inspection.Knowledge of the NFPA, SBC and other Building codes related to applicable FLS systemsAttendance to Formal Punch listing with Engineer/Client/End Users and recording of findings.Attend walkdowns with fire consultants and record all comments and generate reports.Provide technical justification for the comments generated by the fire consultant.Qualifications and SkillsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor?s Degree in Architecture Engineering or Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringThe Fire Life & Safety Engineer shall possess the knowledge on compliant installation, inspection and documentation as per NFPA code & SBC standards.The candidate can be a graduate, or 3 to 5-years of experience open to learn new skills in Fire Life Safety Systems.Able to interpret Fire Life & Safety drawing such as fire rated wall and barriers record the noncompliance and coordinate with project engineer for resolution.Knowledge of Civil Joints system fire sealant works and inspections.Knowledge of services penetrations fire sealant works, including the process of UL system & engineering judgements.Knowledge in Fire Damper compliant installation and inspection process.Knowledge in Fire Rated Doors & Glass inspection, including its associated hardware.Additional Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience on EPC projects and Civil defense inspection is an advantage.The FL&S Engineer is a field position that requires daily site inspections.Please speak with your Bechtel recruiter to determine what COVID-19 safety protocols apply to the work location for the job you are seeking.
