POSITION SUMMARY:˙Participate in and oversee the installation, ˙inspection, maintenance ˙and repair of two-way radios, SATCOM, IP telephone systems, and other electronic ˙communication, monitoring, and accessory equipment ˙including the switching and routing equipment.˙PRINCIPAL ˙RESPONSIBILITIES:˙?˙˙Installs, tests, repairs, and maintains telecommunications equipment and wiring.?˙˙Installs and maintains electronic surveillance and security systems.?˙˙Installs, repairs, and maintains SATCOM equipment, ˙both analog and digital, and point-to-point communications systems.?˙˙Installs and maintains ˙public address systems, radar equipment, earphone systems, intercom systems, electronic sirens, telephone systems, cellular phones, lighting stations, and other equipment and systems.?˙˙˙Modifies existing equipment to meet present needs.?˙˙˙Assists in the planning and designing of new installations, ˙systems, and equipment.?˙˙˙Checks frequencies ˙and solves interference ˙problems.?˙˙Repairs and maintains test equipment.?˙˙Maintains logs and prepares reports.?˙˙Maintains inventory of equipment ˙and parts.?˙˙Inspect communication systems regularly and carry out repairs and recalibrations timely.?˙˙Assesses and repair digital equipment ˙utilizing sophisticated˙techniques. SKILLS:?˙˙Knowledge of the principles of two-way radio communication, equipment, components and systems.?˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙Knowledge of closed circuit surveillance, monitoring, and security systems and equipment.˙
