Solid Waste DistrictDirector (Full-Time)The Medina County Administrator seeks a full-time Solid Waste District Director for the Medina County Solid Waste District.Responsibilities:The Solid Waste District Director works under the direction of the Medina County Administrator and manages all aspects of the solid waste program for the Medina County Solid Waste Management District. Compiles data and statistics regarding volume of solid waste and recycling efforts. Implements and administers the County?s comprehensive solid waste management programs which include a single stream recycle bin program, household hazardous waste, and a transfer, transportation a, and disposal contract. Serves as liaison between Medina County Solid Waste Management District, state, federal and local agencies, and the public. Identifies and recommends operational modifications that will increase efficiencies. Supervisory skills required as this position requires the management of 8-12 Solid Waste District staff members. Assists in any other related duties as required.Qualifications:Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in environmental studies, business or public administration or a field related to the work and three (3) years of experience in developing and implement solid waste recycling programs, managing contracts, or a field providing the required knowledge and skills. Experience in an educational or communications setting is highly desireable. Equipment and fleet management experience also desired. Valid Ohio Driver?s license and clean driving record.
