Job Description

The Coffee Master Roaster is a pivotal role in the coffee manufacturing industry, responsible for overseeing the roasting process to ensure the highest quality of coffee beans. This position requires a deep understanding of coffee roasting techniques, flavor profiles, and quality control measures. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that every batch meets the companys standards for taste and aroma. The Coffee Master Roaster will work closely with sourcing teams to select the finest green beans and collaborate with quality assurance to maintain consistency in flavor.Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the entire coffee roasting process, ensuring optimal flavor extraction.
  2. Conduct regular quality control tests to maintain consistency and quality of roasted coffee.
  3. Collaborate with sourcing teams to select high-quality green coffee beans.
  4. Develop and refine roasting profiles to enhance flavor characteristics.
  5. Train and mentor junior roasters and staff on best practices in roasting.
  6. Maintain roasting equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in coffee roasting.
  8. Manage inventory of green beans and roasted coffee to ensure supply meets demand.
  9. Participate in cupping sessions to evaluate and select coffee blends.
  10. Implement safety and hygiene standards in the roasting area.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Minimum of 4 years of experience in coffee roasting.
  2. Strong understanding of coffee flavor profiles and roasting techniques.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Passion for coffee and continuous learning in the field.
  7. Experience with roasting equipment and maintenance.
  8. Knowledge of coffee sourcing and sustainability practices.
  9. Ability to analyze and interpret sensory data.
  10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
