Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant with a background in retail companies to join our team. As a Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions of our retail organization. You will lead a team of accountants and ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of retail accounting principles, and the ability to drive strategic financial decisions.Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory control, and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide recommendations for improving financial performance and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and support the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, procurement, and operations, to analyze financial data, support decision-making, and drive business growth.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities to ensure compliance with audit requirements and tax regulations.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and retail industry trends, and provide guidance on their impact on financial reporting and operations.
