We are seeking a highly skilled APIC / DataPower Designer to design, develop, and manage secure API solutions using IBM API Connect (APIC) and IBM DataPower Gateway. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in API architecture, security, and integration patterns within enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement enterprise API architecture using IBM API Connect (APIC v10)Develop and configure IBM DataPower Gateway services (MPGW, WSP, XML Firewall)Build and manage API lifecycle ? design, publish, versioning, governance, and deprecationDefine and enforce API security policies (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, SSL/TLS, SAML)Develop assembly flows, custom policies, and transformations (XSLT, GatewayScript)Integrate APIs with backend systems (REST, SOAP, IBM MQ, Kafka, microservices)Implement traffic management policies (rate limiting, throttling, caching)Configure AAA policies (Authentication, Authorization, Auditing) in DataPowerManage certificates, crypto objects, and secure communication channelsDrive CI/CD integration and automated deployments using DevOps toolsMonitor and optimize API performance, scalability, and high availability (HA/DR)Troubleshoot issues using DataPower probes, logs, and APIC analyticsCollaborate with architecture, security, and DevOps teams to enforce best practicesSkillsKey Requirements8?15+ years of experience in API Management and IntegrationStrong hands-on expertise in IBM API Connect (v10 preferred)Deep knowledge of IBM DataPower Gateway (MPGW, WSP, XML Firewall, AAA)Proficiency in API design (OpenAPI/Swagger) and API product creationStrong experience in API security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, mTLS)Hands-on experience with XSLT, GatewayScript, JSON/XML transformationsExperience with integration protocols (REST, SOAP, JMS, MQ, Kafka)Solid understanding of networking concepts (HTTP/S, TLS/SSL, DNS, Load Balancing)Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation scriptingStrong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills in API Gateway environmentsFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerized deploymentsUnderstanding of microservices and API-led architecture patterns.
