Shall perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft structural engineering to include, but not limited to, the following:Advising and assisting the customer in all aspects of aircraft structural engineeringDevelopment and integration of concepts that involve requirements, design, prototyping, production, testing, training, and logistics support in all phases of the weapon system life cycle, including trade-off of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, producibility, supportability, testability, and other engineering requirementsCreation of engineering drawings using 3-D and 2D design softwareProduction of design data for the manufacture and assembly of aircraft structures and systemsProduction of engineering drawings, engineering reports, test plans, and TCTOsResearch and review of engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems in support of design workReview and provide recommendations for authorizations of engineering modifications to include cost benefit analysis of improvement initiativesCreation of designs and supervise implementation of modifications to existing systems (aircraft and ground equipment)Design of repairs for damaged aircraft structure consistent with Military Specifications (MILSPEC) and industry standards. Produce detailed drawings and identify skillset, tools, equipment, and materials to accomplish those repairsInstruction of technicians in correct repair techniquesDesign and development of training material and conduct of trainingPerformance of stress analysis (e.g. to substantiate integrity of repaired structure) and provide advice on matters relating to aircraft stressingInvestigation of aircraft systems related problems affecting fleet performance and development of innovative solutionsMonitoring of test programs and evaluation of test data to identify problems and/or verify performanceParticipation in accident investigations to include damage assessments, production of findings reports, evaluations, and recommendations on major defect and aircraft incident reportsDesign of support equipment for local manufacture, e..g. transport dollies, stands, racks etc.Participation in research, development and implementation programs to improve safety, reliability, and maintainabilityDevelopment of system testing procedures and documentation to verify performance to specification requirementsParticipation in Acceptance Testing of aircraft and equipmentPreparation of staff correspondence to organizations internal and external to the customerSupport of officers at meetings and participation in design and program
