Job Description

Accountable for:An accountant is responsible for organizing financial reports, analyzing cost estimates, reviewing budget goals regularly, and adjusting the companys account statements as necessary. Senior accountants duties also include managing account reconciliations, preparing tax documents, maintaining audit records and balance sheets, generating invoices, and providing recommendations to minimize possible financial loss.˙Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares journal entries to record asset, liability, revenues, expenses, and statistical entries by compiling and analyzing account information.˙Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements from general and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Performs monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position variance analyses.
  • Prepares various account analyses to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and to ensure correct documentation and proper allocations.
  • Prepares various supporting documentation for internal and external auditors and complies with all policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the preparation and interpretation of documents for senior leadership.
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Works with Project Management to prepare contract estimates, modifications, and justifications and works with accounting staff to prepare financial statements.
  • Maintains statistical data within the financial system to ensure the accuracy of allocations.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and recommends changes to management.
  • Prepares and verifies information on worksheets to be included in the Board Financial presentations.
  • Prepares tax reports for various government agencies.
  • Performs account analyses and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Utilizes standard systems for the production of balance sheets, special reports, receivable tracking, and fiscal year reports.
  • Assists with the month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Prepares statutory reporting as applicable.
  • Works on Zakat, tax accounting, and IFRS accounts, including differed and current taxes, manages tax payments and prepares or reviews the tax filings while ensuring that the company abides by the set of laws implemented within the country.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
