The Central Alabama Veteran Health Care System (CAVHCS) located in Montgomery and Tuskegee, AL is seeking a energetic Gastroenterologist to provide consultation and treatment for patients in all patient care settings and performs diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures. Outpatient clinics may be held on both the Montgomery and Tuskegee campuses. He/She chairs or participates in committees and workgroups. He/She participates in student and resident training programs. The Gastroenterologist may have on-call time and may work off-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as priorities demonstrate a need.Direct Patient CareCustomer ServiceQuality management/Performance ImprovementPerformance MeasuresUtilization review and managementEvidence-based practice.Administrative and other functions as assignedAdditional Qualifications:Board Certified or Board Eligible in GastroenterologySkill in performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy, including stent placement, PEGs, and dilation. Proficiency with EUS and ERCP is preferredMaintain current BLS and ACLS certificationMaintain privileges at all times at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care SystemExcellent communication skillsFunctions with patience and energy in a bureaucratic environmentEnjoys working as a member of a multidisciplinary teamWork Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:30p.m.) There will be instances when the selectee may be required to work off-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as priorities demonstrate a need on a rotating basis.Salary Range: up to $300,000 per yearRecruitment/Relocation incentive may be authorized for a highly qualified candidateSelected candidate may be able to apply for education loan assistance thru the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
