*Pay Grade/Pay Range: *58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 42,140.80 Midpoint - $ 61,110.40*Department/Organization: *204101 - Deans Office-Arts and Sciences Adm*Normal Work Schedule: *Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm*Job Summary: *The Manager of the Geochemical Research Lab is responsible for helping determine and implement the analytical requirements of many of the faculty and graduate students in the Department of Geological Sciences, as well as other departments and universities. This position works closely with faculty and students to accomplish timely, accurate and precise analyses of aqueous samples using chromatographic (IC) and spectroscopic (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GFAA) techniques.*Additional Department Summary: *The Manager Geochemical Research Lab runs the day-to-day operations of the lab. Orders lab supplies. Works with instrument vendors on maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation. Develops analytical methods & SOPs. Trains students.*Required Department Minimum Qualifications:* Masters of Science degree with heavy emphasis on geochemistry, chemistry and/or water quality and (2) years of analytical laboratory experience to include eighteen (18) months of wet chemical analytical instrumentation, analytical data quality assurance, and quality control experience; OR Ph.D. in geochemistry or chemistry.*Skills and Knowledge: *Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and a laboratory budget. Familiarity with PC computer systems and software. Working knowledge of Excel, WORD and Adobe software.*Preferred Qualifications: *Ph.D. in geochemistry, analytical chemistry and/or water quality and three (3) years of direct experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS and IC instrumentation and analyses. Electrical, pump and plumbing system knowledge.
