Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldExplosives Subject Matter Expert InstructorAmentum is actively seeking Explosives Subject Matter Expert (SME) Instructors to support training courses in Huntsville, AL. The position may require CONUS travel.DutiesThe SME Instructor supports the delivery of Homemade Explosives (HME) courses. The HME course provides training on the identification, processing, and disposal of improvised explosive materials. The basic course structure is lecture and lab in the morning, and range problems in the afternoon. The course is typically delivered 20 times per year. Students are limited to ATF Certified Explosives Specialists (CES), FBI Hazardous Device School bomb technicians (BT), Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians (EOD), and Special Operations Forces (SOF) Explosives Engineers.The SME Instructor supports the delivery of Homemade Explosives (HME) course by preparing practical exercise scenarios, conducting explosives demonstrations (including the preparation and handling of improvised explosives mixtures), preparing and conducting explosive disposal exercises and demo range clean up. Duties also include acting as Range Safety Officer, or Explosives Control Officer during live fire exercises.The SME instructor presents course material via the classroom, outdoor training sites and on live fire demo ranges. SME Instructors guide and observe students through all exercises including range and disposal operations. SME Instructors perform other associated tasks including but not limited to range safety sweeps/clearance operations, fire hazard mitigation, and grounds preparation intended to provide for safe demo range operations and explosive hazard detection/mitigation.HME Instructor Minimum Qualifications:? Must not be prohibited from possessing and transferring explosive materials as defined in Title 18, United States Code, Section 1102, Chapter 40? Graduate of ATF HME course or equivalent course? Experience mitigating HME scenes domestically or abroad? Able to obtain a Secret government clearance? Microsoft Office Suite qualifications.? Strong verbal and written communications skills.- 10 years directly relatable experienceMust have held one of the following certifications: ? Certified Explosives Specialist, ATF?
