Observe setups and procedures and reports data on performance for inclusion in operating log to assure adherence to the operational schedule Assist with leak-seal, packaging, transportation, and certification in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) for movement of both military unique and industrial toxic agents across public roadways and international borders. Calibrate automatic detectors, utilizing training and reference publications in the accomplishment of basic assignments. Assist with the setup of temporary weapons of mass destruction (WMD) characterization and assessment sites in the public domain, Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS), and DoD Installations.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Capability for emergency worldwide response to chemical/biological accident/incident situations 24 hours per day 365 days a year. Must possess, or obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must undergo urinalysis screening under the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program prior to appointment to the position and randomly thereafter. Must be able to pass a medical examination initially and annually. Mobility for temporary duty (TDY) assignments both stateside (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS). You will perform mission requirements in hostile environments. In such situations, you will be designated as Emergency Essential IAW the current DoD Directive governing retention of DoD Civilians in overseas locations. Must be able to obtain and maintain a State-issued Class C Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Hazardous Material Endorsement within 24 months of employment. Must obtain and maintain a Government drivers license within 30 days of employment and maintain a stateside drivers license within 30 days of employment. Must be able to comply with the provisions of Army Regulation 50-6, Chemical Weapons and Materiel, Chemical Surety, Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) and be able to maintain Chemical Surety PRP requirements. Must be able to perform all duties while wearing up to OSHA Level A personnel protective equipment (PPE) for up to four hours in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.20. Must be able to perform typical duties such as lifting and carrying munitions, casualty evacuation, and confined space extrication. This position is covered by the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; must be able to carry a weapon and qualify in the use of assigned weapon(s). You will be exposed to all weather conditions and of unpredictable terrain or access.
