Job Summary:The Department of Theatre and Drama seeks candidates for appointment as Associate/Full Professor of Directing/Acting and Artistic Director to begin August 2022.Specifically, we are seeking an experienced leader to serve as Artistic Director for the University Theatre for an initial three-year term.The Department is committed to educating theatre artists and audiences. Additionally, the Department is expanding its curricular offerings in digital storytelling (i.e. video games, virtual reality, augmented performance). The successful candidate will support the development of curriculum in this emerging field. We are looking for an energetic and experienced professional interested in joining our diverse, dynamic, and collaborative team.Theatre and Drama faculty are expected to initially develop and teach one large enrollment course to support our size-limited practical courses. The departments of Theatre, Art, and Dance are housed in UW-Madisons highly acclaimed School of Education, which values interdisciplinary collaborations and supports the arts as we enrich our global community.
