American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH)Lexington, Kentucky, United States (on-site)The Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine is seeking a full-time academic plastic surgeon to join its faculty with an emphasis on Hand Surgery. All ranks will be considered. The faculty member will have the opportunity to teach residents, engage in research, and participate in clinical program development. The specific area of focus will be Hand Surgery, but in addition, all aspects of clinical Plastic Surgery are available. All candidates must have completed an integrated plastic surgery residency or a plastic surgery residency and be either ABPS board certified or in the process of certification. Additional board eligibility or board certification in Hand Surgery is required.The candidate s primary focus will be to support the UK Hand Center, which is a multidisciplinary environment with orthopedic and plastic surgery trained hand surgeons, hand therapists, and support personnel incorporated into a 5000 sq. foot clinic devoted to hand patients. Radiology and ancillary services are on site. Practice locations include University HealthCare Hospitals, the Shriners Hospital for Children, the Lexington Surgery Center, and the Lexington VA hospital. The successful candidate would also have the opportunity to participate in the Hand Fellowship program, training one fellow per year. Additional opportunities in Plastic Surgery practice are also available such as breast reconstruction, body contouring, and aesthetics.We offer an academic career in an environment that promotes professional excellence.
