Job Description

Lead the safestart-up and delivery of all Wells activities. Accountable for the delivery ofsafe and efficient performance on the projects using either drilling orwork-over rig units. Involves daily management of planning and executionof Wells projects by the drilling unit(s). Responsible forleading, coaching, and motivating a very diverse group of Drilling Engineersand Drilling and Services (sub)contractors in the planning and execution phasesof the project, in a remote and complex operating environment. Drive the teamtowards operational excellence and continuous improvement through theapplication of best practices and new technologies. Responsible for theprovision of a ?Safe place of Work? ensuring HS&E management systems andsafety cases are in place, and verified effective to achieve the strict HSEtargets. Develops processes and procedures in line with companypolicy and business requirements for all aspects of well delivery.Plays an active part in the reserves maturation plansworking closely with sub-surface and surface engineering teams.Supports the Supply Chaindepartment by providing input for main service contracts and development of IPMcontracts as requiredRequirementsEXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

• Engineering degree, or equivalent.
• At least 15 preferably 20+ years relevant experience inE&P in well engineering with knowledge of well planning, well design, wellprogramming and well construction including completions.
• Must hold IWCF valid well control certificate.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders,from field personnel to managers in the office. Ability to bring people alongand build team spirit between Office and Site.
• Ability to control and manage Emergency Response situations.Abilityto avoid potential difficulties by predicting and understanding the down-holeconditions and applying the appropriate techniques and/or preventative measures.
• In the event of operational problem or HSE incident, must beable to identify the root cause and initiate corrective action.
• Ability and willingness to initiate improvement in equipmentand/or procedure and to streamline the operation whilst keeping a balancebetween well quality and costs.
• Must ensure that the Drilling and Service/SpecialistContractors conducts all aspects of the rig operation, in accordance withCompany?s policies, standard, procedure and guideline on both Technical and HSEaspects.
• Good oral and written Technical English capability(communication skills)

• Fully conversant with Well Planning software, directionaldrilling and horizontal well operations with a proven HSE and Operationalleadership abilities in onshore oilfield operations.

REPORTING:The Well Engineering Manager will report directlyto the CEO.LOCATION:The job is categorized as Muscat base, on permanent bases.Due to the operational nature of the role it is required to be available oncall at any time of day or night mid-week and undertake weekend work as part ofthe weekend duty rosterESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: ?

• The Well Engineering Manager responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to:
• Safe start-up of work units. Manage the rig operations fromthe Muscat.
• Accountable for resourcing the team with the requiredcompetent skills.
• Accountable for implementation of all Well Engineeringprograms that are required to run safe and efficient drilling operations.
• Ensure that all stated objectives of the well are achievablewithin the agreed program within time constraints and budget. KPI:Actual/Planned cost within AFE budget.
• Provide guidance and expert judgment to the rig siteDrilling Supervisor on HSE, drilling, completion, work-over, productiontesting, abandonment and all matters related to the operations of a rig.
• Accountable for project wells performance improvement andachieving a clear ?Learning Curve?. Maintain an active learning loop by implementingsection Pre-Planning/After Action Reviews.
• In conjunction with Logistics Start Up Lead and relevantVendors, ensure materials, personnel and services are mobilized in time toprevent rig idle time.
• Management of interfaces with Sub-surface teams in Muscat.
• Provide active input into scope and technical specificationsfor the delivery of the Wells SCM efforts.
• Responsible for coaching and mentoring of all Wells staff.
• Ensure compliance with all legislativerequirements and the HCF/Industry minimum standards. Verify this through fieldvisits and audit and review structure.
