Job Title Senior Officer - Cost Controller Educational Qualifications * Bachelors degree in finance or a relevant field is strongly preferred Minimum of 4 years? experience.* OR 2 years college Diploma in a related discipline with 6 years? experience. Skills/Knowledge * Working in the cost control field for a couple of years.* Management experience is strongly preferred* Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data* Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal* Solid networking and interpersonal skills* Able to generate budgets and reports* Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately* Able to develop strong, cooperative relationships with department heads* Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems.* Proficient use and knowledge of technology, including MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, ORACLE);* Teamwork and organizational skills;* Sound knowledge about Oman Tax law and VAT law.* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience Required As mentioned in Educational Qualifications Job Location Muscat * Monitoring and updating cost estimates for projects to ensure that costs are within expected ranges* Reviewing expense reports to ensure that expenses are reasonable and appropriate for the circumstances.* Coordinating with other departments such as human resources, payroll, accounting, and finance to ensure that all costs are accurately tracked.* Conducting cost analyses to identify areas where costs can be reduced or eliminated altogether.* Monitoring budgets to ensure that spending does not exceed approved levels.* Collecting cost data from suppliers or subcontractors to track material costs* Preparing reports to management regarding costs and expenses.* Preparing bid estimates for new projects or bids on existing projects.* Managing supplier relationships to ensure that the company is receiving quality. products at competitive prices.* Work in conjunction with all department heads to ensure maximum profitability.* Provide critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections.* Assess all incoming products, resources, and services to ensure the best price.* Maintain vendor and service provider relationships.* Remain acutely aware of market trends that could impact resource costs.* Keep up to date on new vendors and possible cost-cutting partnerships* Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at the expected cost* Collaborate with department heads to strategize ways to minimize waste.* Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the interdependency of cost drivers.* Understand the entire arc of the business and how productivity impacts profitability.* Commit to maximizing efficiency at all levels without compromising quality.* Develop and implement proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures.* Present new strategies and assessments to stakeholders in a compelling fashion.* Educate and persuade stakeholders to procure buy-in and cooperation.* Roll out clear cost-saving programs with timelines and assessment goals.
