Job Description

The Resident Engineer ensures the team carries out the duties required of them according to the scope of services defined in the Consultancy Agreement to provide an efficient and effective service to the CLIENT.Execution

  1. Administrates and manages the contract until all requirements of the construction contract including maintenance are fulfilled.
  2. Verifies the contractors overall work program, methodologies and examines his proposals and engagement of the contractors.
  3. Monitors & prepares the monthly progress report for client submission
  4. Prepares possible measures to recover the delays & recommendations to avoid any lost time in the implementation of the project.
  5. Reviews Delay analysis, assesses the extension of time claim by contractor, and recommendation of the EOT for client?s approval.
  6. Arranges meetings with clients/contractors. Prepares the MOM
  7. Reviews shop drawings / approve material approvals as per the design documentation.
  8. Monitors the quality of the contractor?s scope of works and execution of the project per the contract document and engineering practices.
  9. Coordinates with other disciplines , Structure, ID, etc.
  10. Advises the client on possible ways to reduce project expenditure and advises the contractor on possible measures for improving efficiency.
  11. Issues necessary site instruction to the contractor in writing where required as provided under the condition of the contract.
  12. Preparing interim payment certificates, certificate of completion, final certificate, and maintenance certificate per the condition of the contract.
  13. Negotiate with the contractor and make a recommendation to the client on the rates for any unscheduled items of work that may arise.
  14. Instructing the contractor to carry out the site tests including loading tests, cube tests, etc. as may be considered necessary including supervision and verification of such tests.
  15. Delivery to the client on completion of the works such records and manufacturer manuals including ?As build drawing? as may be necessary to satisfactorily operate and maintain the completed project facilities.
  16. Prepares and submits contract completion and maintenance completion and other reports.
