In Shell, we have been providing pioneering technologies and expertise in the energy industry and creating value for the community that we have proudly been long part of.PurposeShell is expanding its upstream oil and gas operations in the Sultanate of Oman which will include drilling of exploration, appraisal and development wells, and field development studies.?The Principal Concept Engineer will manage and work collaboratively with a team of JVs Concept and discipline engineers responsible for feasibility/concept studies related to all relevant modifications which will be required in a midstream gas processing plant, which form a ?rucial element of Shells expansion activities. A key part of the role is driving the integration between the gas processing plant and the upstream oil and gas operations facilities and ensuring the highest possible availability of the Plant as this will be a key value lever in the development of the opportunity.?The incumbent will also manage all the technical, legal/regulatory and stakeholder interfaces with the Shell project both upstream and downstream of the plant. Principal Concept Engineer will be seconded into the joint venture (JV) organization.Accountabilities

• Develop a detailed technical fact-base of the operations of gas plant and of the upstream pipeline network. This includes conducting an in-depth study and evaluation of the reliability and integrity of the plant. Due to the very close interface with the plant and JV stakeholders, the role will be seconded in the JVs organization.?
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team with collaboration with our JV , define and deliver the concept engineering work relative to all modifications required in the processing plant including metering. Deliver the associated feasibility Studies, Concept Studies, Concept Select Report, and Basis for Design. This scope will be integrated into phase 2 concept select scope.?
• Manage the project scope to satisfy the needs of the upstream and downstream elements of the project.?
• Lead the development of a cost competitive, lean and robust design with collaboration with the JVs team.
• Develop a robust project scope fully integrated across the different discipline especially operations and project management in coordination with the relevant departments in the JV.??
• Lead the development of credible cost and schedule estimates with input from the? Project Services department with collaboration with our JV.?
• Ensure contributions from our JV or external Discipline Engineers as per the JVs procedures.
• Plan and execute the necessary tests and studies to ensure that the gas plant will be capable of processing the gas from upstream while operating within its operating window and with the appropriate level of performance.?
• Manage the reliability and integrity studies within the plant that will be required by the operator to satisfy the need of the project.?
• Manage and participate in the stakeholder engagements with Oman government with respect to plant performance and integrity.?
• Influence a wide range of stakeholders (including plant management, the JVs departments, Oman government/regulators, Shell) to support, buy into and participate in the delivery of the studies testing activities, and decision-making that maximises the value of the opportunity.?
• Provide business/commercial Support to FEDM. This includes the preparation of briefings for Senior Executives and external stakeholders (e.g. board meetings, steering committees), preparations of DRBs focused on integrating complex Technical information and other considerations across the ECOP spectrum and translating them into clear decision options, evaluations and recommendations), and providing input on Work Program and Budget planning.?
• Actively Contribute to the Concept Engineering Community of Practice pursue assessment for concept engineer accreditation under Shell Projects Academy and pursue front-end training.
• Ensure the delivery of local content, including the coaching and development of Omani staff.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum bachelors degree in engineering.? ?(MSc University Degree in Engineering will be a plus).
• Minimum 12 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry in Engineering and leading roles
• Minimum 5 years experience in Concept Engineering or equivalent role.
• Must have experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong integrator with ability to deal with large range of uncertainties.?
• Incumbent needs to be able to cope with uncertainty arising from a complex stakeholder set, and should be able to develop networks to manage key technical, safety, commercial and stakeholder dilemmas.
• Mastery in the application of the Opportunity Realisation Standard. Strong record of safety leadership?
• Must have experience with upstream development and planning.
• Must have experience with competitive scoping, value engineering, Lean or comparable practices.
• Candidates should have demonstrated coaching/mentoring capacity.
• Strong team player with corresponding inter-personal skills.
• Effective communicator and influencer.
• High degree of achievement drive and initiative.
