Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:The Heavy Mechanic/Technician (Mobile Service Engineer) will be required to attend sites breakdowns and carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, servicing and repairs to a variety of electric and diesel powered access machines, such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts and propelled booms on long-to-short term machines and customers-owned equipment.This is a customer focused engineering role requiring a strong ability to build rapport and solid customer relationships. The chosen candidate will need to be a confident, professional person with a good level communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and proactively, whilst providing the highest levels of customer service.As well as being stationed at our Oman depot workshop you may be required to travel outside and stay overnight the city for the occasional project at our other depot locations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines at customer sites and at depots/workshops
  • Diagnose fault, inform the customer of the approximate repair times and rectify any faults
  • Carry out routine and preventative planned maintenance (PPM) at the depot or at the customer sites
  • Handover machines to customers and familiarise customers with safe machine operation in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensuring the machines are left operating in a safe condition and that all work is carried out to customers satisfaction
  • Provide verbal estimates in conjunction with the Service Manager or Supervisor
  • Ensure all necessary service parts are available prior to attending customers site
  • Maintain appropriate level of van stock in conjunction with the Service Supervisor or Manager
  • Accurately complete and submit all relevant paperwork including part requisition forms, engineer reports, off hire, pre/delivery inspection and service sheets
  • Update the system on machine status change i.e. PDI carried out, machine under repair, 6 monthly statutory inspection completed
  • Ensure best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through excellent standards of customer service
  • Maintain high levels of personal appearance, ensuring uniform and personal protective equipment are used correctly
