Job Description

CompanyAn upcoming restaurant and shisha lounge in Muscat is looking for a female head chef. The restaurant will cater to high-end clientele and provide a unique lounge experience to a niche market.Description:The Head Chef is responsible for using their culinary expertise to create appetizing dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. Their duties include overseeing kitchen staff, ensuring quality and restocking food produce as needed.Responsibilities:

  • Set-up menus, study recipes and prepare high-quality meals
  • Ensure that all prepared dishes are presented in an aesthetically pleasing way that is consistent with the restaurant?s brand identity
  • Oversee back-of-house staff to ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner
  • Delegate tasks to back-of-house staff to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Adapt recipes to cater for guests? specific requests
  • Co-ordinate with barista and mixologist to ensure a memorable guest experience
  • Maintain sufficient levels of ingredients in inventory
  • Compile daily reports to monitor inventory usage
  • Ensure the quality of ingredients received from suppliers
  • Liaise with management and suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and delivery
  • Assist with recruitment and training of new back-of-house staff
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Work with management to continuously promote the restaurant in new and exciting ways
  • Ensure that kitchen equipment is well maintained
