The overall development will include a 1,200 square meters Talise Spa, a diving centre, a wide range of sports and leisure facilities, a selection of restaurants, bars and cafes and a kids club. The resort will also include conference and banquet facilities to cater for Oman?s growing attraction as a destination for conferences, meetings and large-scale events. The resort forms part of a larger development that includes 300 high-end residential townhouses and villas, taking advantage of some of the most beautiful, unspoilt coastline in the Middle East.About the roleAn exciting role has arisen for a talented Director of Engineering to join the pre-opening at Jumeirah Muscat Bay Resort. To actively contribute to the successful achievement of the organizational goals, link corporate policy and strategy within the Engineering functions across JMB. Ensuring that all departments perform and maximize their potential, are individually profitable and sustainable whilst enhancing the resorts image.Main Duties Administrational

• Liaise and coordinate with other departments (i.e. Front Office, Marketing, Finance, Security, F&B, Culinary, and Housekeeping) if and when necessary to ensure the commercial sustainability of the operation.
• Through clear metrics and customer feedback continuously review all Engineering service levels provided across the hotel and make necessary improvements.
• Ensuring the effective implementation and administration of company-wide policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated Company objectives and OMAN legislation requirements.
• To develop and implement a range of diversity and inclusion initiatives.

• Develop and drive the business strategy, ensuring that the Business Excellence and ISO frameworks are utilized in order to enhance business results.
• Allocate clear accountabilities for profit and ensure each operational department contributes the agreed budgeted profit, financial targets and other Key Performance Indicators.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure appropriate capital expenditure projects are initiated in a timely manner to ensure the assets of the Resort are maintained properly.
• Conduct frequent and thorough inspections of the different hotels operations to ensure they are well maintained.
• Closely monitor guest feedback, communicate all feedback results and make recommendations for the resorts improvement.
• Participates in training and development programs that may improve personal or department standards.
• Ensures competence level of all colleagues is sufficient for the departments to meet/exceed the requirements of the organization and guest.
• Meets and networks with representatives of the local community and business forums as well as current and potential guests.
• Makes recommendations to Management for modernization of equipment, service methods, presentation and improved guest satisfaction.
• Manages, represents and decides on direction of all Engineering Department across JMB.
• Builds, directs and manages directly the senior Engineering team by taking an active part in their personal development, safety, welfare and monitoring performance.
• Ensures appropriate and efficient communication across all Engineering departments.
• Ensures guest requirements are determined & exceeded by setting service standards and following Jumeirah Hallmarks and guiding principles as well as by personally meeting guests.
• Understand the unique roles and responsibilities, strategic goals, and business needs of the hotel in order to provide a proactive service.
• Own and develop an effective succession plan for each of department within the business.
• Identify and coach key management within the hotel who would benefit from personalized coaching support.
• Partnering with central functional areas to ensure specific needs of the business are met.
• Participating in division, regional management and staff meetings to ensure an integrated business partnership and strong link with strategy and direction of business.
• Advising management with respect to employee relations and performance management issues, with an emphasis on early identification and resolution.
• Develop, build and motivate a high performing team.
• To drive and support a culture where colleagues, at every level are consulted, recognized, respected and rewarded accordingly.
• Adhere to Jumeirah Group?s Guiding Principles and Hallmarks and to promote them to colleagues on a constant basis, always leading by example.
• Drive change, influence transitions, and actively seek and contribute to ideas and solutions for continuous improvement.
• Be familiar of Jumeirah Policy and Procedures.

• Educated to degree-level or above in a relevant discipline with appropriate professional qualifications and up to date professional knowledge

• At least 10 years in a position of direct responsibility for Engineering Management
• A seasoned project manager
• Budgeting for large scale projects and/or operations
