Job Title Assistant Manager- Legal Affairs Educational Qualifications Bachelor degree in a related discipline preferably with a professional qualification in legal/law having 06 years of similar work profile experience with reputed organization dealing with various legal issues/cases such as labour/HR cases, etc. in Oman court of laws. Skills/Knowledge * Fluent in English & Arabic (Spoken and Written)* Proficiency in MS Office* Be proactive, efficient and used to high workloads from time-to-time * Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)* Excellent negotiation skills* Has the ability to evaluate and weigh all legal aspects and / or situation, and be able to provide sound solutions, with the ultimate aim of protecting the legal rights of the Organization.* Experience in managing external vendors Experience of working in large and or complex organization advantageous Experience Required As stated in the JD Job Location Muscat - Oman * Ensure the company legal rights are protected and in line with applicable laws in Oman and overseas Reduce reliance on external lawyers in order to reduce cost - Drafting Lease Deed, Memorandum of Understanding, Joint Development Agreement, Sale Deed, Agreement to Sale- Follow legal disputes at all level- Represent the company before all authorities and various level/type of courts in Oman and overseas for issues related to the company- Drafting Memos, petitions, notices, termination and other legal documents- Liaison with relevant Government offices and other authorities if necessary- Ensuring all contracts and records are maintained- Coordinate and make arrangements required for Arbitration proceedings and provide the required documents to appointed Advocate for proceeding of Arbitration- Providing report on litigation status, keeping track on the litigation- Advise user departments on standard commercial rights and obligations based on industry standards and experience- Coordinate with the Company?s external legal counsel and legal counsel of counter parties in aircraft/Engines purchases/lease/financing agreements when required- Developing knowledge of and advising on aviation regulatory matters with emphasis on passenger consumer matters- Negotiating commercial contracts and other proposed arrangements submitted by departments / vendors / service providers- Drafting, reviewing and comment on standard and non-standard documentation, standard terms and conditions framework agreements, master receivable purchase agreements and other relevant documents - In consultation with Manager Legal Affairs, continue the administrative process for recording, processing and handling matter received from courts locally or overseas, Ministry of Labor (MOL), Public prosecution (PP) and Consumer Protection Authority (CPA)- Recording receipts of and distribution to the relevant staff of court papers, MOL, PP and CPA documents to the relevant lawyers/departments- Making sure that the relevant authorities receive a timely and appropriate response to their correspondence (by email or letter as appropriate)- Draft submission of each case in coordination with internal/external lawyers- Handling (MOL), (PP) & (CPA) matters and making sure that Oman Air?s interest and those of its staff are protected- Following up with relevant departments to make sure they are aware of hearing and / or court cases- Keeping a record / dairy of upcoming court hearings or meetings with concerned authorities- Making sure that our external lawyers send regular updates of matters and agreeing the manner in which this will be done (email or letter as appropriate) - Scheduling regular follow up with external lawyers- Working with coordinator to ensure a file is created for each matter and make sure that these are kept secure and kept up to date- Making sure that external lawyers send in their invoices on time and that these are in accordance with the relevant engagement letters- Keeping track of legal expenditure of labor, PP and CPA, etc.- Attend with staff any external hearing that don?t require the assistance of external lawyers- Advise on all legal matters as required- Impart knowledge to other members of the Legal Affairs DepartmentAny other tasks given by the management
