Job Description

Brilliant Planet has an exciting opening for a Project Operations Manager. This role would be within Brilliant Planet?s wholly-owned subsidiary Feed Algae Maroc (FAM) on an initial 6-month interim basis with strong potential to migrate to a full-time position. We are ideally looking for someone who can commence employment immediately (January 2023). As the company positions itself for commencement of construction operations in Morocco later in 2023, FAM requires a Project Operations Manager capable of over-seeing the day-to-day management and maintenance of its existing 3-hectare facility, while also providing a support and coordination role in preparation of future construction works. The role would be acting as a crucial coordinating function on the ground working in close collaboration with a UK-based Engineering team.Core Activities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of a 3-hectare production facility and projects associated with the preparatory stages of a 30-hectare construction project commencing H2 2023.
  • Project manage enhancement works of existing facility utilising in-house capacity and locally/nationally-sourced contractual expertise as necessary and in close collaboration with UK-based Engineering team.
  • Act as a key coordination and implementation lead for new technological and systems testing on behalf of UK-based Engineering team.
  • Spearhead the establishment of local procurement procedures, support local vendor vetting, quality control and establishment of good governance principles.
  • Establish an inspection, maintenance and repair function.
  • Conduct scoping exercise of local workforce capabilities for future project needs
  • Provide coordination of in-country movements of equipment and materials from point of receipt (air / sea freight) to point of delivery at the production site in Akhfenir.
