Job Description

Under guidance of the Horizontal Equipment Engineer, this position is responsible for the execution of maintenance and repair operations for Horizontal Equipment. Controls the execution of maintenance work and ensures the works conform to the relevant specifications and standard.Principal accountabilities:

  • Analyze current procedures and activities to identify and present opportunities for improvement of the workshop.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new team members by familiarizing them with work surroundings, explaining work hours, procedures, use of equipment and job expectations and ensure that new team members understand their respective duties.
  • Maintain good relationships with operations.
  • Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Area.
  • Facilitate the training and development of team members in the department, by providing feedback and coaching to support improvements in their job performance.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
  • Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans to develop appropriate course of actions.
  • Monitor workflow to anticipate impact of delays due to team members being absent for leaves, holidays or sickness.
  • Review and inspect the quality of a technician repairs before the release of equipment..
  • Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to CMMS policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in contributing to zero accidents.
  • Report any unsafe acts.
  • Alert to risks and unsafe acts that could result in an accident.
  • Participates in safety walks and HSSE initiatives

Who we are looking for :
  • Engineering or Technical degree from an Accredited university
  • 5 years of experience in the port industry.
  • Experience in the Port/Terminal environment
  • Strong Knowledge of the Port Horizontal equipment.
  • Strong technical background of engines.
  • Ability to manage contracts and personnel
  • Can work with a wide range of cultures and personnel
  • Works office hours Monday through Friday ? weekend and overtime as required
  • Maintains high energy levels over long periods of time
