Exceptional Shared Services teams are vital to the international success of our business.DepartmentThe Data and Analytics team in MESGS is responsible for sourcing, extracting, standardizing, and verifying all ESG data that power every MESG product. It develops and maintains analytic logic and tools used by MESG analysts. By developing sophisticated machine learning and quantitative methods, the team also leads initiatives to create business-wide operational efficiencies.Role/ResponsibilitiesThe Associate-ESG Analytics is responsible for collecting Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) data and producing analysis on a given portfolio of companies, in line with our rating framework. This role will be focused on specific sectors and will represent this subject matter expertise both internally and externally. In order to assess a company?s ESG performance, the Associate-ESG Analytics has the following responsibilities:Collect and analyse all relevant Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) information of companies that are part of the different covered industry sectorsEstablish relevant contacts with companies and their various stakeholders to obtain additional ESG informationAnalyse and rate the ESG performance of companies and compare against sector and regional peersIdentify and monitor challenges and trends of the covered sectors, establishing deep sector-specific subject matter expertiseProduce high quality reports on ESG performance of the covered companies, using our methodological frameworkEnsure the overall quality of the work conducted by yourself and the teamContribute to the continuous improvement of our tools, processes and methodology for maintaining our quality standards and improving the efficiency of our activitiesMonitor companies on an on-going basisMonitor ESG market debates with a specific focus on the sector and regions covered and contribute to internal discussionsOccasionally support the work of other team members for Moody?s ESG (MESG) activities (translations, design of communication materials, local project support, etc.)#LI-LR1QualificationsBachelor?s degree or equivalent and/or experience in related discipline (Sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), Sustainable Finance)Have a strong interest in ESG, CSR, Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) and/or sustainable development. Previous work experience in a related field is a plus.Excellent English Language skills (working language). Knowledge of other languages is desirable, but not a requirement.Ability to work autonomously, under the supervision and support of a teamStrong knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office toolsDemonstrate analytical skills and critical thinkingDemonstrate time management skills to meet deadlinesDemonstrate communication and writing skills ? ability to synthesise and report information in a clear and accurate way, respecting quality expectations.Moody?s is an equal opportunity employer.
