Plan and supervise the products from production to the customer site Schedule daily and weekly routes Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries. File and maintain vehicle maintenance records. Track orders using functional systems (e.g. tracking software) Monitor and report on transportation costs Ensure transport documents are properly filed Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment Research and suggest cost-effective transport methods Conduct regular safety audits on vehicles Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of material) Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders Ensure compliance with company policies and transport legislation Stay up-to-date with safety regulations Booking in deliveries and liaising with customers. Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system. Communicating effectively with customers and responding to their requirements. Ensuring they deliver within agreed terms. Directing all transportation activities. Developing transportation relationships. Program strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, budgets, and overall needs Tracking, anticipating, and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance; conducting and ensuring that regularly scheduled comprehensive vehicle inspections and pre-trip vehicle inspections occur (conducting and ensuring that vehicles are cleaned and fueled) Communicate with Transportation Manager to know what kind and how many vehicles/trailers are needed on a day-to-day basis. File and maintain vehicle maintenance records. Produce end-of-season report detailing program strengths, weaknesses, Identify opportunities, and recommendations.
