The IRC leads the way from harm to home.The Syria crisis is often described as the worst humanitarian catastrophe since the end of the Cold War. Inside Syria, 7.6 people are internally displaced and 12.2 million are in need of humanitarian assistance. There are more than 4 million Syrian refugees living in neighboring countries. This is no short- term humanitarian episode. The devastating human consequences to huge numbers of people will endure for decades. The destruction of relationships, communities, livelihoods, homes and infrastructure will take years to repair. The IRC is offering a robust humanitarian response to the Syria crisis. The Jordan country program, with a current budget of almost $27 million, operates in Jordan. This position will be dedicated to Jordan health program.?Job Overview/Summary:IRC Jordan is undertaking a study to investigate and improve the community health volunteer model for the identification and management of non-communicable disease (NCD) care for Syrian refugees in Irbid/ Ramtha and Mafraq, in northern Jordan. This study will involve a cross-sectional survey, cohort study, and qualitative research.The Research assistant role will be to support the daily operations of the study activities including assisting in the training of the data collectors and community health volunteers, support data collection, and supervising the quality of data collection in the field, assist in logistical support and coordination.?Major Responsibilities:1.? Implementation of the research field activities:?? Support in selection, recruitment, training of CHVs and data collectors for the research project.? Attend and support the delivering of any training necessary for the data collectors, community health volunteers.????????? Facilitate the data collection and supervising process, tracking daily visits of the volunteers and data collectors, and manage the correct referral pathways for cases.?Attend all workshops and meetings as requested by the research manager.? Assist? in providing the ?logistic support as required in preparation for and running of regular project activities, including the organization and monitoring of regular research project meetings, workshops and other similar events.?Assist and Support in translation of any material related to the research projects documents. Volunteer training materials and documents.?? ?Aids in the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities in compliance with research ethics and SOPsFollows day-to-day activities in the carrying out of research protocol, as appropriate to the position; may perform aspects of research protocol, as required, in accordance with specified project objectives.?2. Supervision & Monitoring of data collectors and CHVs:?Conducting field visits for monitoring and supervision of data collection? to ensure accurate data collection and tracking visits and progress regularlyAssist in in providing regular feedback meeting and training? for the ?community health volunteers and data collectors? Maintain the time sheet accuracy and conformity with both CHVs and HR Department?? Evaluate of individual and overall CHVs and CHVs supervisors? performance through against the research protocols and SOPS.?? ?Ensure that all data collected accurately and maintaining confidentiality principle and information sharing procedure?? Develop effective reporting mechanisms with the data collectors and community health volunteers.?3.Reporting? of research field implementation :Maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and hoc reports about the activities done, as required by research manager and research investigators.? Tracking and reporting data collection progress with research manager and principle investigators.?? Keep flow up and tracking of the correct referral pathway of cases between data collectors and CHVs and the fixed clinics and other health partners.??? Tracking reports on (CHVs, CHVs? supervisors and data collectors) performance and effectiveness and work on improvement of the scope of work.
