Assignment:?Under the supervision of the Food Security and Livelihoods Project Manager, the Hydroponic Officer is responsible for providing technical guidance to ACTED partner cooperatives and beneficiaries in four governorates in Jordan (specifically, Mafraq, Irbid and Balqa) within the framework of ACTED project, ?Providing sustainable work opportunities to refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector in Jordan.? This project is funded by Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) under the US Government. The Hydroponics Officer will be based in the ACTED Mafraq Area office. The Hydroponics expert will work closely with cooperatives and micro-businesses to develop their business plans, through regular field visits and on-the-spot technical advice. The Hydroponics Expert will be required to visit all four governorates on a regular basis, as agreed with the Project Manager. ?FUNCTIONS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):1.?????? Promote hydroponic agriculture through the provision of hydroponic business trainings, agricultural inputs, and market connections with local farmers2.?????? Provide technical assistance to all cooperatives and beneficiaries on hydroponics techniques, dedicated to hydroponic cultivation technique3.?????? Support the Climate Smart Agriculture Consultant during the trainings, as needed and directed by the Project Manager4.?????? Conduct regular visits to the cooperative and micro-business agricultural sites, to provide them with required coaching and techniques5.?????? Provide regular coaching and monitoring of hydroponic activities for cooperatives and micro-businesses throughout the project?6.?????? Contribute to the development of new project proposal in the livelihood sector, as directed by the Project Manager7.?????? Act as a clear communication channel between beneficiaries and ACTED project team8.?????? Provide regular technical input for the Agricultural Initiative Support Groups (AISG)9.?????? Provide technical advice on the contents and implementation of the Farmer Field School (FFS) trainings, according to the local market opportunities and needs of beneficiaries10.?? Provide technical advice / input on reports provided by the external consultants11.?? Foster positive and constructive relationships with cooperatives and farmers, through regular visit to their offices and field sites, to ensure open communication on hydroponic issues / practices12.?? Contribute to the identification of project risks and possible actions/solutions on how to mitigate them?Contribute to the monitoring of the timely completion and quality of activities, in conjunction with the BPRM Project Manager and with ACTED Monitoring and Evaluation Unit14.?? Contribute to reports on lessons learned with reference to the implemented activities15.?? When requested, support the Project Manager and coordination to effectively coordinate and communicate with ILO and other relevant stakeholders16.?? Maintain positive and transparent relations with partners and key stakeholders in the community17.?? Participate to regular program meeting and ad-hoc meetings (internal and external if requested by line manager)18.?? Regularly liaise and keep a positive and collaborative relationship with finance, logistics, administration, and security teams, as well as project development, AMEU, and data entry departments19.?? Support the development of the technical knowledge of the ACTED field team20.?? Maintain open dialogue with all team members, and treat all staff and beneficiaries in a respectful way, in accordance with the ACTED Code of Conduct21.?? Contribute to the security management of his/her supervised staff and know the location of his/her team at any point in time, maintaining regular communication with them when in the field and ensuring that all security rules are known and respected22.?? Report incidents to security focal points and Coordination23.?? Be familiar with ACTED security and evacuation plans, and all other ACTED policies that relate to the position?
