Job Description

Location: Zaatari CampScope of Work:He works in tandem with the Clinic manager and supervises the In-charge nurses. He is responsible for defining, ensuring, monitoring and evaluating all patient care related activities in the PHC by providing effective nursing leadership and management of team according to IMC standards and protocols in order to guarantee the continuity and quality of health care in the projectAccountabilities:

• Coordinate the service delivery of the primary care staff team, ensuring an integrated, collaborative patient-centered approach.
• Defining nursing objectives, developing/amending nursing guidelines and protocols and collaborating with the Clinic Manger to achieve training objectives and empowerment of the nursing team.
• Regularly auditing and ensuring the maintenance of and adherence to infection control standards within the health facility. Keeping a safe health facility environment, intervening and alerting the Clinic Manager in case of security incidents and hygiene concerns in the ER & Referral.
• Planning and supervising, with the support of the HR department, the associated HR processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, motivation, development and internal communication) of the nursing staff in the project and other staff under his/her responsibility, in order to ensure having the appropriate team in terms of size, capabilities and skills.
• In coordination with the Medical Logistician, supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating and communicating future needs. Furthermore, the Nurse Supervisor is responsible for management of consumables in the project. He ensures projection of the needs and order for consumables with the support of the Medical Logistician.
• Coordinating with logistics and the Clinic Manager to ensure that the infrastructure is maintained in good condition, non-food items are tracked and kept and transfer systems in the hospital are organized (e.g. patients and medicines).
• Ensuring effective supervision of the tasks assigned to the In-charge nurses, the registration unit and the MMU team.
• Monitor the health education sessions through propose and adjust new topics for the health education team according to seasonality and outbreak
• Replacing the clinic manager in case of absence and to be a roster for the ER in-charge nurse in the absence of their presence.
• Prepare a daily report for the clinic manager that includes daily activities and special cases (such as communicable diseases cases, cases of protection (GBV and domestic violence, judicial cases, etc.)
• Representing IMC in the community health gathering meetings inside the camp or any other meetings that are delegated to you
• Collaborate with the laboratory and pharmacy supervisors, other implementing agencies within the clinic (referral team, reproductive health team) and external health partners to facilitate optimal communication to ensure an effective, coordinated work flow.
• Oversee the appointment scheduling process ensuring the effective use of staff and facility resources.
• Provide support and guidance to staff in the areas of effective communication and conflict-resolution.
• Collaborate with the Clinic manager to facilitate optimal communication between ER and admin staff and to ensure an effective, coordinated work flow.
• Respond to day-to-day client, staff and operational issues.
• Manage processes related to the roster of ER clients including partnerships with external agencies and internal review mechanisms, in keeping with IMC policies and procedures.
• Provide direction and support to staff leads responsible for specific program and specific assignment.?
• Provide leadership and support for staff to enhance the effective use of the electronic health records system.
• Coordinate the planning process for new ER programs and service initiatives, in collaboration with the staff team, the Clinic Manager, Directors and other teams as appropriate.
• Documentation and reporting related to service delivery and or professional practice in collaboration with relevant staff.?
• Develop an annual work plan for the ER program, in collaboration with Camp Coordinator, Medical Coordinator, Quality Coordinator, clinic Manager, Pharmacy Supervisor and other staff.?
• Regularly review and analyze service delivery and other relevant data.?
• Support, coach and supervise assigned staff, including the development and monitoring of goals and individual work plans.
• Assist staff in identifying areas for growth and professional development.?
• Complete performance appraisals for all direct reports.
• Develop and review staff schedules to ensure maximization of service delivery.
• Approve requests for leave and professional development funding.
• Lead the recruitment and hiring of ER staff.
• Coordinate the orientation and training of new ER staff.
• Participate in IMC annual budget development process.
• Recommend capital and other equipment purchases to support programs, as required.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with external partners as necessary to support and enhance the performance of relevant job responsibilities.
• Participate in team and staff meetings and other meetings and committee work as appropriate to support both service delivery and organizational goals
• Work in a manner that consistent with the IMC vision, mission, guiding principles, preserves confidentiality, client safety and minimizes risk to clients, volunteers, ER & Referral.
• Work in a manner that demonstrates self-reflection and personal accountability for work performance.
• Responsible for mortality reporting and registration.
• Work as a technical advisor and assist the emergency department if needed
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by Supervisor.
